Growing up in and around the Southern California beach culture, Allison Stokke was everything you would expect from an energetic student-athlete.
She was born to parents Alan and Cindy Stokke on March 22, 1989. Allison is the youngest of two children, and her parents raised her in Southern California.
As a kid in Southern California, she had an active sporting lifestyle, partly influenced by her older brother’s participation in amateur gymnastics. David Stokke went on to compete as a student-athlete for Newport Harbor High School. Meanwhile, Allison Stokke, who tried and didn’t like gymnastics, took up track and field, especially pole vaulting.
In 2007, Allison Stokke had the then-uncommon distinction as an online viral sensation. By age 17, Stokke had already won several track and field medals and had broken several records, albeit most of them were her own records. However, Stokke became an online sensation not for athletic ability but for her looks.
The California track and field website posted her photo in 2007, which was then picked up by a male-focused blog.
