Amanda Renner’s spouse, Bryn, was born in West Springfield, Virginia in 1990. He went to the local high school and was a star athlete not just in football, but in basketball and baseball as well.
Yet, it was football where he truly excelled. Plus, his high school football coach was no other than his father, Bill Renner.
Bill had also been a pro footballer back in the day when he was the punter for the Green Bay Packers from 1985–1987.
As a high school senior, Bryn had thrown for 3,123 yards and scored 35 touchdowns. This caught the attention of recruiters on a collegiate level, and Bryn quickly became a national star.
In fact, SuperPrep Magazine named him the ‘All-American high school recruit.’
After finishing high school, Bryn enrolled at the University of North Carolina in 2009. He was soon playing as the college’s team Tar Heels’ starting quarterback, but started out playing backup to T.J. Yates during the 2010 football season.
The following year, he redshirted, so he chose to sit out of all games. However, he continued to practice diligently with the team.
He was soon back in the game and finished his 2013 season with an impressive five touchdowns and 26 passes for 363 yards.
Despite being named to Honorable Mention All-ACC, the Davey O’Brien Award, and the Maxwell Award, Bryn was undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Amanda is undoubtedly one of the celebrated broadcasters on the CBS Sports team. Since joining in 2017, she’s proven herself as smart, talented, hard-working, and, best of all, genuinely nice.
Her success as a broadcaster comes from her rapport with everyone she interviews. She comes prepared, having studied her interviewee as a person, not just as an athlete.
She comes across as relatable to both players and viewers alike. Along with her ready smile and affable nature, Amanda makes it easy to accept her as part of the team.
As such, even the biggest names on prime-time TV can’t turn her down. They seem to enjoy opening up to her, even those who are uncharacteristically tight-lipped and camera-shy. That’s a testament to just how talented this young broadcaster is.
