Many golfers play on average 2 to 3 times a week. Carrying or pulling a heavy unstable golf bag or cart puts unnecessary strain on your muscles and drains the stamina that you need to keep your score low. We will review the best most expensive golf bags for the average golfer to provide an insight into what is available enabling you to decide on the most suitable. While it might cost money the best expensive golf bag will enhance your best performance and game improvement.

Let us look at the aspects of golf bags that should play a significant role in your decision before we assess the individual golf bags.

Key selection criteria

Weight

The amount of energy you waste carrying an uncomfortable bag for 18 holes is draining your energy levels and will affect your driving range more and more the further you go. A comfortable lightweight bag on the other hand will conserve your energy more and assist you with inconsistent gameplay.

Club Space

The clubs should be able to fit comfortably into their slots with protection to the shafts and grips. The number of drivers and clubs you need determines the total weight of your bag. Struggling to get a driver out on the T adds to the frustration and affects your game

Putter Space

Putters getting bigger heads as the technology on the perfect putter improves thus they need bigger space and extra protection for these delicate gate pieces of your armory. Protecting the Putter should be near to the top of the list for your search criteria.

Amount of Pockets

The more useful pockets the better, this includes the accessibility of each pocket even when mounted onto a trolley, the protection of each pocket from the elements. Also look at easy access, space, and the way they seal or lock.

Are there hidden pockets for some valuables? Does the bag have a separate pouch for a range finder? Does the bag have a removable pouch to take with you into the clubhouse if need be? These are some of the questions you have to ask yourself when looking at the amount and size of the pouches available on the different available bags.

Weather Protection

The weather differs everywhere in the world. The type of weather you normally play in will have an impact on the type of bag you need. Mostly all the bags lately comes with water protection, an umbrella holder, and a towel ring.

The question is does the bag comes with water protection for your range finder or even cellular phone. Does the bag come with an insulated cooler bag for your refreshment as you need to drink a lot of fluids out on the field to keep hydrated?

Flexibility

How flexible is the golf bag meaning can you fit it onto a trolley, does it fit in your vehicle and how will you store it, standing upright, or does it come with a stand. Can I carry it with comfort by utilizing the handles or does it have hidden straps for easy access? Do the zips seal properly and can they be locked in place as not to open by accident and lose all your balls or valuables.

Durability

The durability of your golf bag will be determined by the construction and type of material used in the construction. Select the bag that will provide you with the characteristics that you require and will last for several seasons with all its functionality and comfort that you would not easily change to another brand.

The question that comes to mind is how easy will you be able to clean your bag after a hard day of golfing because face it, your golf bag will not look brand new after a few rounds of golf if you don’t take care of it.

Styles

Golf bags are like the fashion industry, each person has their preference when it comes to the style of their golf bags. Some like them wide some prefer more slender others prefer them to be on a stand or a trolley. This will surely make an impact on your choice of the bag with a wide variety on the market you will find the best bag for your need.

Colors

You have a wide choice of colors on the market from different colors on the handle than the bag so you can sort of pimp out your golf bag to your liking and stand out in a crowd.

In my personal opinion, the color arrangement for some of the bags is awesome and looks so cool.

The only way to separate them is by gently pulling an attached tab.

Thus having the freedom to put your bag down knowing it won’t fall over with a slight breeze is a very nice plus. Not many Golf facilities offer bag stands so another plus for this bag.

The towel can easily be hanged and disengage through the Fidlock magnet system so that you can bring it to greens and wipe a ball clean before putting it.

Cons

  • Other than the price nothing else could be said about this bag

The Callaway Org 14 is a great bag for someone who golfs quite often. It offers all the features you’d want in a golf bag. There is plenty of room for all your gear and it seems to be solid. It’s not the lightest bag we’ve ever seen but everything about it is pretty solid.

When looking at Golf Bags the first thing you should notice is the quality of the material. This bag offers great quality that should last a long time.

The next thing to always look for is how much storage the bag has for not only your clubs, but also your gear, jacket, snacks, and drinks. The bag needs to have room for the essentials and this bag delivers on that issue with more than enough space for all your needs.

Not only does it have 14 full-length club dividers that prevent your clubs from getting jammed up in the bottom, but there is also a putter well with TPE (rubber-like materials that combine the characteristics of rubber with the recyclability and processing advantages of plastics.) over mold for the shaft protection.

The Bag comes complete with 19 pockets for all your stuff. 10 front-facing pockets including an improved molded range finder pocket, velour-lined valuables pocket with waterproof zipper, a cell phone sleeve, and an insulated cooler pocket for the really hot days

The cart strap passes through and does not interfere with access to any of the pockets. The new trolley-friendly hook straps secure the bag in place to prevent the normal bag rotation while on a trolley.

Verdict

Selecting a golf Bag for the average golfer is not a straightforward process as many contenders offer remarkably similar qualities and specifications. The ultimate decision will be the one that suits your golf preference. The brand could play a decisive role in unwavering

supporters of a specific brand.

There are no poor quality golf bags amongst the golf Bags that we reviewed in this category. Yes, each one has its unique qualities, and some will have more pockets, some will be lighter and some will feel more comfortable, some will be more waterproof and some might even have a built-in cooler pocket and some might even look more stylish than the rest. The one that you will select will be the one that combines the criteria to your liking ad style.

The competition is extremely high and the two golf bags that stood out for me are the Callaway BG CG CRT and the OGIO ALPHA Convoy 514. Although they may not be the best in every category, they offer better value for money and all-around performance.

The winner in the category of the best golf bag for the average golfer goes to the OGIO ALPHA Convoy 514 by a small margin. Its inventive feature of the Fidlock self-finding magnetic closure system, the exposed Velcro on the side of the bag to enable you to attach your gloves easily. The extra-wide putter column and detachable pouch to keep all your valuables in sealed the deal for me.
