RBC Heritage 2024 Crowns Matthew Fitzpatrick as Champion

Hilton Head Island, SC (April 16, 2024) – Matthew Fitzpatrick claimed victory at the 2024 RBC Heritage, edging out Jordan Spieth in a three-hole sudden death playoff. The tournament was held at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and featured a field of the top golfers in the world.

Fitzpatrick and Spieth were tied at 13 under par after 72 holes, forcing a playoff. The two golfers played the 18th hole twice in the playoff, with Fitzpatrick making a birdie on the second try to win the tournament.

It was Fitzpatrick’s first victory on the PGA Tour since the 2017 U.S. Open. He earned $1.44 million for his win.

The RBC Heritage is one of the most popular events on the PGA Tour, and it was another successful year for the tournament. The course was in great condition, the weather was perfect, and the fans were out in full force.

The RBC Heritage is a major economic driver for the Hilton Head Island area, generating an estimated $100 million in economic impact. The tournament also significantly supports local charities, donating over $15 million to local causes since its inception.

Viktor Hovland shoots 7-under 64 to lead after Round 1 of the 2024 RBC Heritage

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (April 13, 2024) – Viktor Hovland shot a bogey-free 7-under 64 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the 2024 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.

The world No. 4, Hovland started his round on the back nine and made birdies on his first three holes. He added another birdie on the 16th hole to make the turn at 4-under.

Hovland continued his hot play on the front nine, making birdies on the first, third, and fifth holes. He closed out his round with a par on the ninth hole to finish at 7-under.

Brian Harman is in second place at 6-under after a bogey-free 65. Harman started his round on the front nine and made birdies on his first, third, and sixth holes. He added another birdie on the 10th hole to make the turn at 4-under.

Harman continued his hot play on the back nine, making birdies on the 12th, 14th, and 18th holes. He closed out his round with a par on the 18th hole to finish at 6-under.

Aaron Rai also sits at 6-under after 15 holes. Jimmy Walker sits at 6-under after 16 holes as well.

The second round of the RBC Heritage will be played on Friday.
