Who Makes Vice Golf Balls? Brands Explained

Everyone has a vice in life, some spend their money on luxury items at extravagant prices, expensive golf balls, or equipment. Well, Vice golf balls will not deplete your budget but still allow you to either save your money or spend it on other luxuries.

Who is Vice Golf, Where are They Located, and Who Makes Vice Golf Balls?

Simply put Vice is a company started by two surfing lawyers, Ingo Duellmann and Rainer Stoeckl, in 2012 in Germany where the company still designs and manufactures Vice golf balls. They started selling premium golf balls into the German market before expanding to the rest of Europe and eventually entering the US Market in 2015.

Vice golf balls are competitively priced as they are not sold through the usual distribution channels where between 3 and 4 middlemen add commission and push up the end price.

All sales are driven through internet purchases directly from the company and distributed directly from the manufacturer to the customer. Bulk sales offer discounts making it ideal for golfers wanting to buy stock every quarter or even annually.

Initially, it was a challenge to convince golfers to buy a relatively unknown brand in high quantities. Hence Vice offered the Selected Package which includes a sleeve of every option in the range to determine which golf ball in the range suits their game.

Low prices offered do not impact the top quality that you can expect from every Vice golf ball. The quality is comparable to any other premium golf ball on the market. The price of a new Vice ball is comparable to the price of other premium golf balls that have been used.

In their quest to take the golf ball market by storm Vice offers a new marketing concept with personalization options that you are unlikely to experience at any of its competitors at the same price point.

Balls are shipped within 3-5 business days combined with the customization option, which includes text or logos on a low quantity of one dozen, which convinced many golfers to try out the new brand.

In association with the German Golf Association (DGL), Vice is expanding its portfolio to include rising professional and amateur golfers.

Currently Vice offers a range of five high-quality golf balls that are designed and engineered in Germany covering all levels of players including Tour professionals. The range includes multilayer, urethane-covered Tour balls, and two-piece Surlyn distance balls.

The limited range is aimed at keeping production costs to the minimum and pass the saving on to the customer.

Special focus is placed on the premium cast urethane cover line of Vice Pro Soft, Pro and Pro aimed at the premium golf ball market at golfers with slow to medium driver speed.

Pro Soft is a 3-piece ball aimed at swing speeds between 75-90 mph, Vice Pro is a 3-piece ball aimed at golfers with medium to high swing speeds between 90 and 110 mph with the driver. Rounding out the premium ball category is the Vice Pro Plus, a 4-piece ball aimed at golfers with a swing speed exceeding 110 mph.

In the lower end of the market, Vice offers the 2-piece Surlyn cover Drive aimed at beginners that require some assistance in getting more distance while the Vice Tour is a 3-piece surlyn covered golf ball targeted at the average golfer who requires distance off the tee without sacrificing feel around the green.
