Signature Hole – The 537-meter par 5 9th is the signature hole and gives the player options. A good tee shot opens up the opportunity to go for the green in two, although it is all carry over water.
The safe play is to one of the split-fairways and then approach the green.
Longest course in the state of Louisiana and is built on a natural wetland.
The routing moves through tall pines and oaks, with the fairways skirting lakes and ponds throughout.
Both 9s finish with testing par 5s.
Another unique feature is the 19th hole which is a “playoff hole”.
2. TPC Louisiana

Signature Hole – The finishing 538-meter par 5 18th is the signature hole and presents a great challenge to close out your round.
Water flanks the entire right side of the hole from tee to green, so keep it left and finish with a par.
Situated in a flat old swampland, this stadium-type design allows the spectators to get very close to the action when the PGA Zurich Classic is in town.
A great risk and reward layout that encourages a bold approach on every hole. The bail-out areas are where the trouble lies.
Pot-bunkers, huge waste-bunkers, water, and the Cypress and Oak trees offer the defense on the track and a few “gators” can liven up your round.
3. La Tour Golf Club

Signature Hole – Differing opinions on this subject, but the 2 par 3 holes 14th and 17th are my pick. Not all that long but the 14th is a near-island green connected by a land bridge.
The 17th is a replica of the famous “postage stamp” and will test the nerves.
On both these holes, club selection and the prevailing wind will unsettle the golfer.
A challenging, but rewarding layout designed by David Toms.
Playable by all skill levels and choose your tee from which to play to enhance the experience.
Rough is fair, but OB native grass will keep you searching should you venture to retrieve your ball. Water and bunkers add to the challenge.
The undulating greens will test the ability with the “flat stick”.
4. The University Club

Signature Hole – The 615-meter par 5 3rd is my choice for the signature hole. A long forced carry over water off the tee and the bailout area is a narrow fairway bordered by high grass on the right.
Hit the driver straight.
The course is fairly long off the tips but use the tee options available that suit your game.
Quick greens require composure when not in a good position.
The 4 par 3 holes are very picturesque but challenging.
A tough layout for novices as the forced water carries can be intimidating.
5. The Country Club at The Golden Nugget

- Length: 6,279 meters off the Tips and 5,578 meters off the Front.

Signature Hole – The 531-meter par 5 18th is my signature hole and is a slight dogleg to the left.
Water guards the left side from tee to green with plenty of waste bunkers along the fairway on the right.
A green-side bunker sits on the left at the green.
A flat layout that plays on Marsh-land and is flanked by the intercoastal waterway. As you would expect water hazards are plentiful, coupled with waste bunkers, makes this an enjoyable course for all skill levels.

6. English Turn Golf and Country Club

- Par: 72
- Length: 6,470 meters off the Tips and 5,443 meters off the Front.
PLAYER RATING

Signature Hole – The 494-meter par 5 15th is the signature hole and finishes with an island green.
Water runs down the right side and bunkers down the left require an accurate tee shot to this narrow fairway.
A large bunker at the back of the green saves those who over-club the approach.
A Jack Nicklaus design that has water in play on every hole.
Plenty of risk and reward holes for the adventurous golfer, but bunkers lurking for the stray shot.
From hole 15 to 18 is an exciting and extremely tough finish, and the small greens add to the challenge.
Target golf is the name of the game to score well here.
7. Links on the Bayou

- Length: 6,288 meters off the Tips and 5,396 meters off the Front.

Signature Hole – The 330-meter par 4 16th is my choice of signature hole and plays from the tee across water. The water continues and flanks the fairway to the green.
The green cuts back further right into the water, ensuring that the distance control and accuracy are rewarded on the approach shot.
A good challenging links, but can also be enjoyed by the mid to high handicap player.
Accuracy will prevent some high scoring holes as the water and sand traps are ever-present.
The course never plays the same due to the wind factor, which can cause havoc on the scorecard.
Great opportunity to play half-shots and knock-down shots into the good greens.
8. Carter Plantation

- Par: 72
- Length: 6,443 meters off the Tips and 5,204 meters off the Front.

Signature Hole – Unable to establish the signature hole, but from many reviews, the course is highly rated.
The par 4s are challenging, but birdie opportunities exist with accurate iron play.
David Toms designed the course which features cypress, oak, pine trees, and 86 bunkers throughout the layout.
The gently rolling fairways play to raised greens with swale surrounds. Deep rugged-bunkers and water in play on 11 of the 18 holes will keep the concentration level up.
Select the tee that suits the player’s skill level to increase enjoyment.
9. The Golf Club at Stone Bridge | Stone Bridge

- Par: 72
- Length: 6,356 meters off the Tips and 4,503 meters off the Front.

Signature Hole – Unable to establish the signature hole, but the 420-meter par 4 9th will take some beating.
A big accurate tee shot over the wetlands is required to avoid the pond and bunker in the landing area.
The approach to the green must carry water and if the wind blows, makes club selection difficult.
The course requires accuracy off the tee to avoid the many hazards in the landing areas and winds through a natural setting of small lakes, protected wetlands, and mature oaks.
The sequence of challenging holes does not let up as you progress through the layout.
It is a serious challenge to the accomplished player but can be enjoyed by all provided the correct tee is selected.
10. Pelican Point Golf and Country Club | Links

Signature Hole – Difficult to establish the signature hole, but if you enjoy playing links-style golf, the 18 holes on offer will satisfy all levels of golf.
The links course winds through the Pelican Point Golf Community and has wide fairways allowing the driver to be used regularly.
The large greens present their challenge and accurate approach shots will negate 3 putts.
Play the course from the correct tee to suit the golfer’s ability and enjoy the challenge.

1. Bayou Oaks At City Park | South Course

A Rees Jones / Greg Muirhead designed course, this public course offers both fun and a challenge to all skill levels.
The 18-hole layout has 46 bunkers, so expect to have some bunker practice.
2. Wetlands Golf Course

Wetlands is a regular 18-hole layout and an ideal course for fun or social round.
Some challenging holes, with water and plenty of bunkers all the way through.

The 18 holes offer different challenges and it is a favorite for the many visitors who tour the area.
