Signature Hole – The 353-meter par 4 8th is the signature hole and it plays downhill off the tee over natural grass to a sloping left to right fairway.

3 bunkers on the right side of the fairway and wetlands behind the green, call for shot placement.

One of the top-rated public courses in Idaho. Every hole is different and a feature is the carry required off the tee over wetlands or tall grasses.

Twisty fairways, plenty of bunkers, and wind add to the challenge, so be prepared to play some knock-down shots to keep the ball in play.

Signature Hole – The world-famous 199-meter par 3 14th with an island green, is the signature hole.

Bunkers protect the green front and back, but it is a really fun hole to play.

A boat called the “putter” ferries the golfer to and from the green.

The green distance is changed every day via an underwater cable system.

This a solid golf course with no gimmicky holes and the good player will thrive on the challenge.

A few left to right doglegs, with tree-lined fairways and bunkers, require accuracy to score well here.

Throw in the 2 and 3 tiered greens to complete an exciting round of golf.

This wide-open true links is relatively flat, but when the wind blows, the course shows its teeth.

The penal rough and the large contoured greens require a deft touch with the putter.

Shot-making is rewarded.

5. Falcon Crest Golf Club | Championship

Signature Hole – The 438-meter par 4 18th is the signature hole and will keep the golfer focused to the end of the round.

It has it all, with beauty, hazards, and water, which runs down the left side and in front of the green.

A precise mid-iron for the 2nd shot will give an opportunity for par.

A picturesque and challenging layout, with waterfalls, train trestle bridges, and ponds throughout.

It will test the good golfer, but the selection of the tee to suit the golfer’s ability will give the average player a thrill to score well.

Signature Hole – The 456-meter par 5 18th is the signature hole, and what a way to complete the round.

The left side fairway is flanked by water, and keep the 2nd shot to the right, if not attacking.

The green is well protected by bunkers.

The layout is mainly flat but built up around the greens. Water and OB are very prevalent, and hitting a fade off the tee and into the greens is the standard requirement to score well.

Position off the tee is the strategy, which allows the correct angle of attack into the green.

7. Coeur D’Alene Golf Club | Public

Both are par 3s and the 2nd at 141-meters plays downhill to a tree-lined green complex protected by bunkers.

The 137-meter par 3 6th, is very short but accuracy to avoid the bunkers, is the requirement.

A highly-rated public course that offers a variety of holes and the tree-lined fairways demand accuracy off the tee.

Don’t smash driver on every hole as anything off-line will cost you shots.

A fun and enjoyable experience await all who play here.

Plays off a cliff to a green well below, with a large hazard on the right and 4 bunkers protecting the complex.

A course of total contrasts as the links-type feel of the 1st 11 holes changes dramatically with water hazards and steep elevation changes on the remaining holes.

A challenging finishing stretch that will create some discussion on completion.

Signature Hole – The 460-meter par 5 5th is the signature hole that plays to a steep left to right fairway, which feeds the ball into a good position. This sets up the opportunity for the long-hitters to attack the uphill approach shot, or just lay it up for the 3rd to the difficult undulating green.

Signature Hole – The 204-meter par 3 17th is the signature hole on this track and can be a scorecard breaker.

This semi-island green does have a bailout area on the right, but anything short or left is wet.

The closing 3 holes at Quail Hollow are as good a stretch of holes the golfer will encounter anywhere.

Known as the “green mile”, this scenic finish requires target golf skills to difficult contoured greens.

The hills and undulations make this a spectacular course to play.
